“Tontouring”
Posted by Trish Wallace on
Sculpted cheekbones and contouring within an inch of our lives is great for nights out or days where you have 2 hours to get ready and want to look flawless, but what about the days when you are late getting up, have kids to get to school or just couldn’t be bothered putting on multiple layers of foundation and concealer? Lucky for us, top make-up artists have made life a little easier with “Tontouring”. This trend takes a little practise but when you have it nailed, it will change your makeup routine forever.
Here are my 3 simple steps to Tontouring:
- Apply a gradual tanning moisturiser all over the face using a stippling brush, I love the Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask®, not only because it gives a fabulous glow to the skin, but also because it is super hydrating and won’t clog your pores.
- Next, use a darker self-tanner along with your stippling brush and in 1 quick sweep, create a short line underneath your cheek bone and also underneath the jawbone and chin. If you want to add a bit more definition to the face you can also add a small amount around the hairline. I find Cocoa Brown’s 1 Hour Mousse tan® the easiest product to work with as it doesn’t dry too quickly and makes the next step a lot easier!
- Lastly, blend blend blend!! I recommend using an angled brush and in small circular motions blend the tan together until there are no more harsh lines. Leave it for up to 8 hours, or depending on how dark you want your tan to be and in the morning, add a touch of highlighter or Cocoa Brown’s Golden Goddess® to your cheek bones and voila!, sculpted cheekbones for up to 5 days without the hassle every morning!
