Party Hands & Feet

Posted by Ann McNelis on

With the Festive Season approaching, it’s time to think about looking our best for all those parties. There is nothing as great as purchasing those fabulous strappy party shoes but we must make sure that our feet are as fabulous.

If our feet have been a bit neglected since the summer season do not despair. The ‘Micropedi’ is just the thing to restore them back to their former glory. This amazing little device gently and effectively buffs away dry, hard and rough skin from the soles of the feet in seconds. It is safe and easy to use with no rough scrapers or graters.

The unique anti-bacterial extra coarse micro-mineral rollers spin 360 degrees, at 30 times per second, to gently remove rough and hard skin. The ‘Micropedi’ is a battery operated device and very easy to use. Ask Whelehans staff for more information on how the affordable ‘Micropedi’ can help your feet look and feel great. You will never look at pumice stones again!!

Updating your makeup for autumn

Posted by Aisling Murray on

Autumn is my favourite season of the year for so many reasons, but one is the new makeup collections that make an appearance. I only update my makeup twice a year; first in spring time and second around this time of the year getting ready for the colder months. I love the colour of the year for 2015 which is pantone; I feel it’s the most ideal Autumn colour to incorporate, whether it be a nail polish, eyeshadow or if you’re feeling brave even a lipstick.

  Pantone: My favour autumn shade!

 Lipstick

Only recently Elizabeth Arden came out with a new range of matte lipstick and in my opinion they are perfect for the autumn months. Unlike most matte lipsticks they are not drying and instead are very moisturising. Autumn is the best time to experiment with deep plums and rich berry tones and my favourite autumn toned lipsticks from Elizabeth Arden® are fig, raspberry and bold red.

Eyebrows

I always say that eyebrows frame the face and it so true. They should not be neglected during the autumn months. CAILYN® has recently released their Gelux eyebrow product. It’s a waterproof gel formula and comes in a range of different colours. There is a built-in angle brush which makes this gel brow product ideal for travel. Find your perfect shade instore today and you can shape, define and fill for impeccably groomed brows.

Moisturiser

The autumn months can be extremely cold and this can wreak havoc on our skin.

Makeup tools 101

Posted by Aisling Murray on

Applying makeup can be made much easier if you know the best tools to use. Everyone’s techniques are different and some tools work better than others for us makeup lovers. The makeup tools I use depend on the occasion, the finish and the look I’m going for. These are the tools I find which work best for me.

Fingers:

The most inexpensive and easily accessible tool we have is our fingers. I use my finger to apply my makeup primers on my face and eyelids as it’s easy and I don’t have brushes to clean after. Fingers can also be great at applying tined moisturiser or BB (beauty balms) creams. I don’t recommend applying foundation or eyeshadow with your fingers as it can be messy and leave streak marks. Also your fingers don’t blend as well as a brush and can look very harsh especially when it comes to shadow.

Brush:

There are so many different types of brushes and knowing what types to use can be difficult.
